The Adult Sunday School program is a thriving and exciting place to be, and provides in-depth learning and many opportunities for fellowship.
Classes are set up as electives, with the subject matter changing quarterly. You can choose from any of the classes offered.
Here, we can get to know the Bible and each other better. Discussion is encouraged and questions are always welcomed.
Fall 2010 Electives
Beginning September 5
Mark
CJ Walter , Room #2
A discussion about baptism, the Sabbath, the slandering of the Holy Spirit, healing, and the meaning of the many parables of Christ.
The Lord Looks at the Heart, Part 2
Ruth Smith, Room #1
For women only, ages 18-108+
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7b). David was known as a man after God's own heart. Join us as we take a look at David's life and God's dealings with this shepherd boy who was called to be king. We will also look at the characters surrounding David and learn much about the hearts of God, David, Saul, Jonathan, and others. We just might learn a thing or two about ourselves and the God who loves us so much in the process. (No materials to buy.)
Forgotten God
Rick Shell, Room #4
We will be using Francis Chan's workbook, Forgotten God, as our study guide. Through solid scriptural support and compelling narrative, Rev. Chan returns us to the Holy Spirit as Scripture describes Him. We are reminded that we were not created and saved merely to survive our time here on earth. Chan contends that we've ignored the Spirit and, as a result, we are reaping disastrous results. Let's pursue the Spirit-filled life in order to be the disciples God has called us to be. (The cost of the workbook is $10.)
